Dr Stephanie de Giorgio is a GP who works in East Kent. She has had an interest in Perinatal Mental Health since she trained in Obs & Gynae for 6 years at the beginning of her career and has developed this further over the last few years with publications and sharing knowledge.

She was joint GP Lead for NHSE in perinatal mental health and worked with a colleague on the GP champions for perinatal mental health programme, training GPs to become more skilled and teach their peers. 

She worked with organisations to successfully get the Maternal 6 weeks check back into the GP contract in 2020 and was part of the Perinatal Mental Health Network in Kent and Medway, to ensure training for GPs along with good perinatal mental health services for women and families in the area. 

She also has personal experience perinatal mental illness.
