When is Guidelines Live?

Tuesday 17 November and Wednesday 18 November 2020

Who can attend Guidelines Live?

Registered healthcare professionals including GPs, nurses, pharmacists and those with an interest in developing and implementing guidelines.

What are the educational bursaries?

We have a limited number of educational bursaries available for UK registered healthcare professionals working within the NHS, these reduce the ticket price by £300, so that delegates are only required to pay the administration charge of £40 (+VAT).

If you are not a UK registered healthcare professional, you may still attend, the ticket price, including the admin charge, is £340 (+VAT) for both days or £215 (+VAT) for one day.

What does the admin fee include?

The Guidelines Live team has arranged for a number of resources to be available to all delegates including:

  • Digital versions of Guidelines in Practice
  • Guidelines: a special Guidelines Live supplement including new summaries and those most relevant to the sessions covered during the event
  • Digital resources from the clinical sessions.

What can I expect at the virtual event?

  • Watch live online presentations from expert speakers
  • Download valuable educational materials to access later
  • Text, audio or video chat live with exhibitors.

When will I receive the instructions for attending the virtual event? 

The Guidelines Live team are working diligently to prepare for this unique experience and will send you the necessary instructions within a couple of weeks of the event.

Why should I attend the entire event?

Virtual events bring the same experiences as a face-to-face conference to your personal computer, so just like a face-to-face conference, you have the freedom to pick the sessions you attend from the different auditoria, an exhibition to discuss products and services with exhibitors, and a networking lounge to meet with other delegates to discuss challenges and solutions.

Many say that attending the event in its entirety will help you to get the most out of the experience.

On the day

How do I log in on the day

Your login details will be emailed to you ahead of the event. You will be asked for your email address and the password supplied in that email to access the Guidelines Live virtual platform.

Who do I contact if I am having technical issues on the day of the event?

Please send an email to guidelineslive2020@getvfairs.io for any technical assistance. This email address can also be found:

  • at the information desk accessible from the main menu or lobby
  • at the top right hand corner of the screen in the virtual platform.

How will I know where to go in the virtual platform?

A guide to using the virtual platform will be available before the event and accessible via the resources centre.

Symposiums

How long will each session be?

The timings will follow those planned for the face-to-face event. All sessions will be 45 minutes long–this will consist of a 30-35 minute presentation and 10–15 Q&A after the presentation.

Can I ask questions during the sessions? 

We encourage you to ask questions at any time using the Q&A function within the auditorium. These questions are then displayed to the session presenters for a response during the live Q&A session.

Will there be breaks in between sessions?

There will be 3 breaks during the day: a break in the morning, a lunch break, and an afternoon break. The clinical streams are comprised of 3 sessions and will be hosted either in the morning or the afternoon with a 20-minute break in between session 2 and 3 of the stream.

There will be shorter 30-minute lunchtime symposia on some days during the lunchtime break.

Exhibition hall

Will there be an exhibition as at face-to-face events?

The Guidelines Live virtual event will include all aspects of a face-to-face event that you are used to: auditoria for viewing sessions, an exhibition to discuss products and services with exhibitors, a networking lounge to meet with other delegates to discuss challenges and solutions.

 

We could not have provided this educational meeting via a sophisticated Virtual Platform without the kind support of our sponsors and exhibitors. Please visit the Virtual Exhibition during the breaks, between sessions, and interact with our colleagues from Industry. The exhibition will be open at the following times for you to chat with exhibitors via text, audio, or video:

What time does the exhibition open and close?

How do I communicate with exhibitors?

Once you are at an exhibition booth, you can communicate via text, audio, or video. If a booth representative is not present at the time you may email them from the booth and they will get back to you.

Is a webcam required?

No, some exhibitors may have the ability to request a video chat, it is not required in order to participate.

Extras

Will there be a help desk?

Yes, there will be a virtual help desk/information desk located in the lobby. A member of the Guidelines Live team will be available to answer event-related questions in addition to a technical representative for queries about using the platform .

Can I connect and network with other attendees?

We have set up a networking lounge–this is the ideal place to network and connect with other delegates during the breaks between sessions, at lunchtime, or the end of the day.

Will I be able to take way any documents or files from the event?

Yes, as at a face-to-face event you will be provided with a delegate bag on the platform–simply download resources from the exhibition stands and email them to yourself at the end of the day

Something has come up and I need to cancel. How do I go about this?

We understand that circumstances change: if you are unable to attend please email us at guidelineslive@mgp.co.uk.

If you cancel your booking before Friday 16 October 2020 you will receive a full refund and Guidelines Live will reallocate your place. After this date any fees paid are non-refundable although you are welcome to transfer your booking to a colleague at no additional charge. Please email us at guidelineslive@mgp.co.uk to request a transfer.

How do I receive my CPD certificate for attending Guidelines Live?

At the end of the conference all delegates will receive an email with instructions of how to access their personalised CPD certificate confirming attendance at Guidelines Live 2020. You will earn 6 CPD points if you attend for one day and 12 CPD points if you attend for both days.
